Obituary

We were truly blessed to have Minnie for our mother. She touched so many lives and was
loved and respected by all. She showed us that when life is hard, you pick yourself up
and keep going. Never give up.

Mother modeled her deep and abiding faith in the Lord and love for her family daily.
Her long, devoted marriage to my father and she was a wonderful example of how to
have a long relationship. These need constant care to achieve.

Theirs was a beautiful love story. Losing daddy after the long struggle with dementia
was so hard and she had to learn to live alone for the first time in her 80's after a heart
attack and stroke. She was so strong and my hero. She died at home in her chair with
Mike at her side and Tammy holding her hand. Tammy is mother's care giver since she
started with daddy years ago. Tammy is our adopted sister and a treasured member of the
family. Thank you, Tammy, for holding her hand when I couldn't be there. In Tammy's
words mother "put up a hell of a fight". Mother had a wonderful Thanksgiving with
Mike's family and shared Christmas gifts with her great-grandchildren. She was so
Happy. What a magnificent gift that was.
Marcus's death was a crushing blow.

Mike was on video call with doctor's office to treat a UTI when mother had a massive stroke
and quietly left us.

My mother was named after Minnie Runyon O'dell, who was Cherokee. When we were
growing up we did not have that documented connection to the tribe, or brought up in the
culture because of political climate. Uncle Jim started researching our ancestry and
Mother and her father's efforts documents have been gathered. I have been working on
this with them off and on. Now we are documented. It does not matter how much. Wolf
clan Cherokee. As Chief Baker told me you are either Cherokee or you're not.
Be proud of that heritage! This is another of the gifts mother left to her family, and future
generations. Honor and protect the legacy left by their efforts.

Marcus and mother both have joined the guardian angel task force in heaven to watch
over us all.

Mother is coming to you, daddy. Doesn't she look beautiful in her pink dress she wore for
Danielle's wedding. Be happy for them. Rest in Peace mother, daddy, and Marcus.

Together again. 'We will join you in the circle in the sky bye and bye.
In Cherokee, Gv ge yu hi means I love you. Quegi is my name Peggy'
