Obituary

Miriam Franklin Wardlaw Freeman, left this life on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 12:10am, at the age of 91. Miriam was born July 25, 1925, in Arkansas, to Rufus Bryan Wardlaw and Luna Belle Richardson Wardlaw. She was raised in the family home and graduated from Warren High School, Warren, Arkansas, in May 1943. Miriam attended the Chillicothe Business School in Chillicothe, Missouri, and then worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Miriam married Kenneth Freeman June 23, 1944, and they had four children, Stevan Michael Freeman, Phyllis Ann Freeman, Keith Alan Freeman, and Curtis Franklin Freeman. Kenneth and Miriam owned Freeman's Jewelry in Tulsa from 1955 through 1985. Miriam was a member of Skelly Drive Baptist Church in Tulsa.

Miriam spent her life showing her children and grandchildren what it means to be selfless. She loved her family and friends completely and unconditionally, and will be missed by all.

Miriam was preceded in death by her daughter Phyllis, and is survived by her children, Mike Freeman of Tulsa; Keith & Vicki Freeman of Broken Arrow; Curtis & Cathy Freeman of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Jeff Freeman of Afton; Natalie Freeman of Vinita; Elisha & Jeremy Lau of Saginaw, Texas; Jessi & Jason Charlesworth of Bentonville, Arkansas; Michael & Delaney Freeman of Corpus Christi, Texas; Tyler Freeman of Broken Arrow; Amanda & Bryan Shook of Tulsa; Christine & Taylor Reed of Chesapeake, Virginia; Daniel & Meagan Freeman of Owasso; and great-grandchildren, Jake Wopart; Olivia, Nolan & Wyatt Charlesworth; Ashlynn and Brock Shook; and Malachi Reed.

A celebration of Miriam's life will be Friday, April 21, 2017, at 1pm at Moore Southlawn Funeral Home, 9350 E. 51st St., Tulsa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Miriam's name to the DAV. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
