Obituary

Born in a farmhouse just outside of Bowlegs, Oklahoma on June 28, 1934, Mitchell O'Donnell passed from this earth on August 8, 2026. The son of Omer and Birdie Lee O'Donnell, Mitchell was a 1952 graduate of Bowlegs High School. While playing for the Bowlegs Bisons, Mitchell won a football scholarship to East Central University, where he met and married the love of his life, Mary Virginia Floyd. After the couple was married, Mitchell attended law school at the University of Tulsa graduating in 1961.

Following law school, Mitchell and classmates, C.B. Savage and Jack McNulty formed the law firm of Savage, O'Donnell & McNulty in 1963. From there, Mitchell went on to develop a general practice representing individuals and family businesses for well over 50 years. Outside of his law practice, Mitchell took great joy in coaching his son's football, baseball, and basketball teams; sharing with his friends and neighbors fresh vegetables from his backyard garden; and spending untold hours with his three grandchildren. Mitchell will most be remembered for his kindness and sense of humor.

Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Birdie Lee; and his two older sisters, Catherine Reed and Elise Cook. Mitchell is survived by: his wife, Mary; son, Shan and his wife Traci; son, Terry and his wife Teresa; and three grandchildren, Cavan, Tyler, and Treagan.

Funeral Services will be held at Parkview Baptist Church, 5805 S Sheridan Rd, Tulsa, OK, August 17th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
