Morris "KEMP" Fox beloved husband, father and granddaddy passed away peacefully in Tulsa Oklahoma January 3rd, 2020 surrounded by his wife and family. Kemp was born in Mangum Oklahoma March 19th, 1927 to Thelma and Elbert Fox. Kemp was the youngest of two children and his older sister Jo Fox Barren who preceded Kemp in death on October 27th, 2019 at the age of 96.
Kemp graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma City University graduating with a bachelor's degree in Accounting. After graduation Kemp served in the armed forces as a member of the United States Navy from 1945-1946. During his time in the Navy Kemp was stationed in San Diego, California, and Norman Oklahoma. Upon his return he meet his soul mate Cynthia Mae Greiner. They were married October 18th, 1952 in Oklahoma City Oklahoma and began their journey of life together of 68 years of marriage. Kemp began working for Standard Oil and in 1965 moved to Tulsa to work for Amoco and found their forever home. Together they had 3 children Lucinda Kay, Charlotte Ann, and Louis Kemp. The family continued to grow with the addition of in laws, Dr. Ron French, Mike Courtney and Michelle Fox. They were blessed with 7 grandchildren, Kyle, Colin, Matt, Kayla, Carrington, Kensley and Holton. Kemp's family heritage and legacy continues to be blessed and grow wth the additional of 6 great grandchildren. One of Kemps favorite things was being with family and watching his grandchildren grow up and attending many and all of their activities including sporting events. Over the years one of Kemps favorite things was refereeing football. He was honored by being inducted into the OSSA Hall of fame in 1997.
Kemp was very active in Southern Hills Baptist church and was the treasurer for years, serving as a deacon, as well as chairman of the Deacons over the years.
Kemp was preceded in death by his loving and gifted two daughters Charlotte Fox Courtney and Lucinda Fox French and his sister Jo Fox Barren. They like Kemp are deeply loved and missed beyond words.
Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Southern Hills Baptist Church,2218 E. 56th Pl., Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
