Myra Anne Owens, 95, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022 in Tulsa, OK.
She was born August 31, 1926 in Anthony, KS to Claude and Zeda (Meyer)
Hoatson. Her family moved to Duncan, OK when she was in the 7th grade.
Sugar (her nickname) worked at the Palace Theatre in high school with Neil
Owens who became her husband after WWII. She attended Oklahoma
College for Women in Chickasha, OK.
Myra worked as an Administrative Assistant for Champlin Petroleum for 20
years. She was a duplicate bridge player, an avid quilter, and lover of
monarch butterflies. She and Neil spent many happy hours on the Gulf of
Mexico in a boat that he built by hand. In later years, their fishing time was
spent on Oklahoma lakes.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Neil G. Owens, and two
sisters, Zeda Banion and Claudette Hoatson. She is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Alan Odgers of Tulsa; son and
daughter-in-law, Ted and Ann Owens of Chula Vista, CA; three
granddaughters, Sara (Ryan) Barry, Carrie (Zack) Hall, Lucie Owens (Ben
Li); grandson, Jack Owens; great-grandchildren, Mason, Owen, and Layton
Hall, Katelyn and Alex Barry.
