She was a wonderful cook. Her specialty was mince meat pies at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She loved gardening and working in her yard. Up until the age of 99 she spent 4-5 hours per day in her yard working, spring, summer and fall. She loved her roses, iris and tomatoes. After retirement, she volunteered from the age of 70 to 90 years old for low-income people to submit their taxes. Her hobby after retirement was making dolls. First large dolls then she went to miniature dolls. She poured the molds, painted and dressed them. The only thing she didn't make was the hair and eyes. When she did the miniature dolls, she had to use a magnifying glass to paint and sew their clothes by hand. She also did shadow boxes for the miniatures.
