Eckenrode, Nadine Agnes (Thomas) passed this life on Saturday November 15th, 2014 at the age of 96 years, 6 months and 20 days.
Nadine was born in San Antonio, Texas to Louis and Myrtle Thomas on April 26, 1918. Nadine's family settled in Tulsa after having traveled around Texas & Oklahoma where her father worked in the oilfield.
Nadine graduated from Clinton High School in 1936 and was Clinton's High School Homecoming Queen. On March 13, 1936 Nadine married the love of her life, Leonard Clarence Eckenrode. They were married 75 years before Leonard preceded her in death on December 15, 2011.
Nadine worked for McDonnell-Douglas during WWII as a timekeeper. She retired in 1972 after working 20 years as a medical secretary.
After retirement Nadine volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Francis Hospital for a time as well as volunteering for the Salvation Army.
After Leonard's retirement in 1983 they became snowbirds for 6 months each year and loved meeting new people and making new friends.
In addition to her parents and husband Leonard, Nadine was preceded in death by her sister Lucille Thomas Lambert. Nadine is survived by her Sister-in-law Dorothy Wilburn, Nephew Terry and wife Sherry Wilburn of Tulsa and niece Connie and husband Mike Brown of Hominy.
Services will be at Wednesday November 19th at 10:00 am at the Moore's Southlawn Chapel.
