Nadine Louisa Vorba was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on January 11, 2024 whom she prayed to reunite her with her beloved husband Marvin. Nadine was a lifetime Lutheran and a current congregant of Fellowship Lutheran Church in Tulsa.
Nadine was born August 31, 1927 to John and Anna Havran of Dysart, Iowa. The family lived on a farm near Dysart where Nadine's chores included feeding the henhouse chickens. She attended and graduated from Dysart High School and went on to complete her hair beautician training which she practiced in Des Moines, Iowa for a period of time. She met Marvin Lee Vorba from Vining Iowa, while still in high school and they married upon his return from Army service during World War II. The couple relocated to Waterloo, Iowa where Nadine went to work at John Deere Manufacturing. Marvin's occupation with Mid-Continent Oil Company eventually provided opportunities for advancement to Madison, Wisconsin, back to Waterloo and then to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Nadine fully supported these moves and juggled housewife, mother and occupation duties as Larry Lee and Janis Jo came into the family. She worked for a number of years as an administrative assistant with Lattis Office Supply in Waterloo and Sears Roebuck and a Tag Agency in Tulsa.
Nadine's hobbies over the years included baking, candy and cookie making, embroidery, jig saw puzzling, and game nights with family and friends. Several family members are recipients of tea towel sets adorned with her embroidery skills. She carried on an active cookie ministry at Fellowship Lutheran Church for a number of years as well, providing homemade cookies for the entire staff to help carry them through the day.
Nadine is survived by her children Larry Lee Vorba and Janis Jo Day (Bruce); her grandchildren Josh Day (Kimberly), Sean Day (Sydney), Jonathan Vorba (Kirsten); her great grandchildren Otis James Beck, Betty Louisa Vorba and Sally Mae Vorba; and her nieces Verona Sucanek (Andy), Pam Bechill (Bob) and Sara Gerlach (Larry). She was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters Manetta Ohrt (Marvin) and Katherine Havran; her beloved husband Marvin Lee; her nephew Royce Ohrt (Glenda) and her daughterin-law Linda Vorba.
