Nancy was born on November 3, 1930 in Arkansas City, KS, the only child of Erin O. and Norma (Mitchell) Chase. Nancy was five when the family moved to Seneca, MO. There they owned a funeral home and dry good/grocery store.
Nancy graduated from Seneca High School, received her Associates Degree from Northeastern OK A&M and her BA in Education from Northeastern State University where she met her husband of 65 years, Fred Gardner. She worked many years as substitute teacher and Saint Francis Hospital "Pink Lady" volunteer.
Nancy passed away on March 31, 2023 surrounded by family. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Fred. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Reed (Craig) and son, Mitchell (Eunice); grandchildren Rachel, Andrew and John; great-grandson, Nathan.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on April 6, 2023 at Floral Haven Cemetery.
