Obituary

Nancy "Jayne" Mason was born in Muskogee, OK, January 7, 1927. She moved to heaven on August 28, 2014, from Tulsa, OK. Jayne's death was expected but not anticipated so soon.
A memorial service will be held September 7th in the sanctuary of Asbury United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Tom Harrison will officiate, and the Asbury Choir and Orchestra will be significant to the service.
Jayne graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, TX. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma, was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority, and taught one year in the Britton School System. In Oklahoma City, Jayne and her parents joined the Nichols Hills United Methodist Church.
From a previous marriage, Jayne had two daughters – Peggie Nash, Tulsa, and Robin Tanner and husband, Ron Tanner, Tulsa, who have two sons – Ryan, Oklahoma City, and Stephen, Tulsa.
Jayne married William C. "Bill" Mason, July 9, 1958, and two sons were born – William "Cameron" Mason II (wife, Adriane), Frisco, Texas, and Cameron's son is William Cameron Mason III, and William Randal "Randy" Mason, Oklahoma City. Randy's daughter, Jennifer and husband, Keith Anyong, were blessed with a baby daughter, Jemma, on August 26th.
Jayne's mother and father, Bose and Mildred McFarland, and brother, Larry McFarland, preceded Jayne in death.
Jayne, Bill, and all four children moved to Dallas, TX, in August, 1961, where Bill entered Southern Methodist University's Seminary. After thirteen years with Mike Bryan's Office Supplies, God called Bill into ministry. This was a huge adjustment for the Masons since Jayne was mother of four children with an unemployed husband. After two and a half years in seminary, Jayne, Bill, and Peggie enjoyed a three and a half month tour of Europe, Scandinavian countries, and the Middle East while Robin, Cam, and Randy enjoyed their time in a "kinderheim" in Switzerland.
Upon their return to the United States, Bill and Jayne received their appointment to serve Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa. After twenty-nine years of growing and ministering the church with God's grace along with their dedication, love, laughter, and never ending energy, the Masons retired in 1993 and made Tulsa their permanent home. It is clear to all who know and love them that God called Jayne and Bill as a team.
Along with rearing four wonderful children and supporting Bill in every way, Jayne's generous spirit was active in the life of Asbury Church. She never met a stranger and was delighted to welcome new people anywhere and everywhere she went. She organized neighborhood holiday parades and made sure all four children were on time to church. Jayne was a member of Christian Women's Club and attended the first meeting in Tulsa and did her best to never miss a meeting. Jayne served the American Red Cross for a number of years.
Jayne's family is grateful for St. Francis Hospital and Hospice Care ministered through the Montereau rehab personnel. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Bill Mason Scholarship Program through Asbury United Methodist Church.
