Obituary

Nancy Gray was born Nancy Sue Stephens on November 4, 1941 in Hamburg, Iowa. Her parents, James Douglas and Lovilla Delilah (Webster) Stephens raised seven children. Her father was a heavy equipment operator and her mother a wife, mother and homemaker.

Nancy fell in love with Donald Lee Gray, and the two were married December 24, 1959. Their married life followed Don's career as a young U.S. Army service man and professor of mathematics . . . teaching in various Iowa communities. Upon his retirement in Iowa, the two relocated to Tulsa and would later carry on ministerial careers together.

Nancy's early career was as a licensed cosmetologist. She became a licensed and ordained minister later in life following her acceptance of Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Nancy ministered extensively for a number of years both domestically and internationally.

Nancy authored two books, The Angelic Army and Say Goodbye to Discouragement. Nancy was a prolific student of the Bible and scriptures, a characteristic she would rely upon throughout her lifetime when ministering to the needs of others and her many family members.

The greatest of Nancy's heart's desires was that all her family would come to know the Lord's goodness, blessings and salvation as she came to know them. Nancy's relationship with God was ever-present and part and parcel of her daily routine.

Nancy loved traveling with Don and spending time with her two children, Coleen (Vick) Barker and Scott (Kristan) Gray; and her four grandchildren, Jarod Barker, Ryan Gray, Matthew Gray, and Haley Gray.

Nancy's surviving siblings are Gary Stephens of Stanton, Iowa; Shirley Collins of Hamburg, Iowa; and Janice Paine of Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Lovilla Stephens, and siblings Sally Morgan, Lois Hunt, and Peggy Collins.

Nancy passed to Heaven peacefully in her home, Friday, October 19, 2018. She desired gifts in lieu of flowers be given to Faith Christian Fellowship International and Father's House Church, both of Tulsa.
