Obituary

Nancy Lee St. Clair, 87, former resident of Tulsa, OK, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 5, 2020, in Allen, TX. She was born on Sunday, August 16, 1932, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Joseph W. and Elizabeth Ferguson. Nancy married the love of her life, Eblin Lee St. Clair, on April 25, 1953, in Charleston WV, and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage, sharing a life filled with family and friends, service to their church and community, and many adventures together, before he went to his heavenly home on Saturday, June 1, 2019.

Nancy raised three children who have wonderful memories of their mother. Their childhoods were spent in West Virginia as small children, before the family moved to Tulsa when the kids were in elementary school. She is remembered as an extraordinary Mom to her kids. She always treated their spouses as her own children, and her abiding love has left its mark on them all. Nancy was known as "MaMa" to her children and grandchildren and is remembered most fondly for her special "MaMa wisdom", her wonderful sense of humor, and her gracious love. There was always laughter at the dinner table when her family gathered at the St. Clair home for delicious meals and desserts. She was a woman of great faith and a counselor to her children and grandchildren. She could always be counted upon for a unique, deeply-opinionated, and often unexpected, perspective.

She was tremendously gifted as a cook, and prepared meals for Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. Her leadership in the kitchen raised money for ministry, which was a passion of hers for decades. Her volunteer work also included Meals on Wheels and Restore Hope. Spending time and energy helping the less fortunate was her way of serving her God, and she was tirelessly devoted to it. She enjoyed quilting, playing bridge, square dancing and other activities, usually with church friends.

Nancy is survived by her son, Stephen St. Clair and wife, Karen. Granddaughters, Stephanie Baker and husband, Justin, Amanda St. Clair, Ashley Krafts and husband, Austin. Great-granddaughters, Jocelyn St. Clair, Victoria Baker, and Taylor Baker. Daughter, Sandra St. Clair Barron and husband, Brent. Grandchildren, Sarah Greene and husband, Jonathan Greene, and Micah Barron. Son, David St. Clair and wife, Jamie. Granddaughters, Grace St. Clair Gettert and husband, Christopher Gettert, Corinne St. Clair and wife, Carlye St. Clair. Great-grandchildren, Owen Gettert, and Connor Gettert; and a lifetime of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Eb St. Clair. Nancy will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but her spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have her in our lives.
