Nancy Belle (Goudelock) Wheat, 82, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016, Tulsa, OK. Nancy was born October 25, 1933, Oklahoma City, OK, to William Beverly & Mary Elizabeth (Davis) Goudelock.
Nancy met John Arthur Wheat while both were attending the University of Oklahoma. They were married November 22, 1955, Oklahoma City, OK. After graduating from Oklahoma City's Classen High School in 1951, Nancy earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma. Nancy volunteered for a number of organizations, most notably serving on the board of the Tulsa Civic Ballet in the 1960s and early 70s. Nancy then graduated from the first graduating class of Tulsa Junior College, in 1972, earning an Associate Degree in Computer Science.
She worked for Rockwell International, Getty Oil and Texaco as a Computer Programmer/Systems Analyst retiring from Texaco December 1993. She loved spending time with her family, attending bible studies, traveling with her husband and farming their property in Bixby. She also loved to hand stitch and spend time with her beloved animals.
Nancy is survived by daughter: Elizabeth A. Wheat of Tulsa, OK., Son: John A. Wheat Jr., his wife Lisa of Broken Arrow, OK. Grandchildren: Shannon Michael Schneider, Broken Arrow, OK., & SFC Brent A. Schneider, his wife, Shaleigh, 5 great-grandchildren: Ava Jewell , Blake Allen, Allie Jane, Owen Steele, Emma Grace, San Antonio, TX. Also survived by one brother-in-law Thomas Boyd Wheat, Marlow, OK , cousin Barbara Gordon, St. Louis, MO, her caregiver Janiece Gardner, Broken Arrow, OK, and many beloved nieces & nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband John and her sister Beverly Goudelock Baker.
