Ned Elden Skipper
Departed this life May 14, 2021 at age 85 at home with his wife and son.
He was born in Jacksboro, Texas on April 12th, 1936 to Lester Lee (Bud) Skipper and Nellie McCord Eason Skipper.
Ned was a machinist and was proud that he was able to pass that trade on to other family members. Ned retired from American Airlines in 1996.
In his younger years he loved to take the family camping and fishing, especially under Chewy Bridge at the Illinois River. That was until some wild hogs decided to come in the front of a small 3 room tent to take over the family groceries and Ned started hauling the family out the back to safety. He also loved to square dance with his wife of 64 years, Jane Marie Skipper.
He had a passion for his garden along with his Koi Pond that he built in the backyard and loved to see his grandkids squeal with delight as he got them to put their feet in the water and the fish would nibble on their toes.
Ned is survived by his wife Jane Marie, son James Elden Skipper and daughter Debbie Jean Harrell; his brother (Bill) Willie Lee Skipper and his wife Gloria; granddaughter Shannon Nicole Ruth and her husband J.D. Ruth; granddaughter Angela Marie McGinnis and her husband Michael Jason McGinnis; grandson James Samuel Skipper and Mathew Taylor Harrell and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; 1 grandson, Jason Thomas Bradley; 1 nephew, Bart Lee Skipper; and a son-in-law, T.J. Harrell.
He was loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
