Nedra Smith, 77, of Tulsa, OK, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Thursday, February 6, 2020. She was born on Thursday, February 19, 1942, in Muskogee, OK, to Alfred William Smith and Robbie Carolyn (Howard) Smith. Nedra was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a Rhodes Scholar, a member of Phi Gamma Kappa Honorary Scholastic Fraternity of TU, a member of Kappa Delta Pi, and a retired teacher in the Tulsa public school system. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, and was the owner of "B.E.A.T." (Ballroom Educational Enrichment Arts & Theatre). Nedra was proud of her family, enjoyed spending time with them, and gave unconditional love and encouragement. She was an especially loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and faithful friend, always there with words of wisdom and guiding hands. Nedra is survived by her son, Grady Smith and wife, Donna of Tulsa, OK; daughters, Shauna Merbouhi and husband, Younes of Morocco, North Africa, and Cassie Hamilton and husband, Jon of Bixby, OK; nine grandchildren; brother, Randy Smith and wife, Beth of Yukon, OK; sisters, Trudy Price and husband, Arthur of Tulsa, OK, and Dixie Weir of Catoosa, OK; numerous nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Tonya Smotherman; and infant granddaughter, Emily. Nedra will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but her spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have her in our lives.
The family requests donations be made in Nedra's honor to "Pancreatic Cancer Research."
