Nell J. Youngblood's Obituary

Nell J. Youngblood, 96, of Tulsa, OK, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 4, 2024. She was born in Webbers Falls, OK, on Sunday, June 26, 1927, to Jess K. Wadley and Ethel Dorthula (Morgan) Wadley. Nell formerly worked at the Westin Hotel, Montagues, and several years as a Care Giver in Home Healthcare. She married the love of her life, Louis S. Youngblood, on Saturday, August 31, 1946, in Okmulgee, OK, and they shared many wonderful adventures together, until he went to his Heavenly home on Friday, February 4, 1977. Nell graduated from Webbers Falls High School, where she played basketball. She was a member of SIA (Singles in Agriculture), and a past member of Eastern Star.

Nell was a faithful member of Eastwood Baptist Church, and loved the Lord with her whole heart. She was a role model to her family and others, as she walked out her Christian life, and she leaves a lasting, loving legacy. She enjoyed helping people, exemplified grace and love towards everyone, had a kind, generous, giving spirit, and no matter what she did, she did it all as unto the Lord. A servant, Nell served in a way that her relationship and dependence on Christ was evident. She was exceptionally generous to others with her time, care and love.

Being a homemaker was a job Nell took great pride in. She enjoyed cleaning her home, which was always well-kept. As a committed wife and mother, she prioritized her family's needs and likes. She had a gift for hospitality, enjoyed cooking and serving, and she loved shopping. She valued her relationships with friends and family, and was always there with a loving heart and guiding hands. Nell took great pride in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild, always gave unconditional love and encouragement, and it was one of her greatest pleasures to spend time with them. To her family, Nell was the kind, talented, persevering, and tenacious woman spoken of in Proverbs 31.

We were privileged to have Nell in our lives, and she will be greatly missed in the days ahead. There is no doubt that Nell will be rewarded to hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Nell was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Louis S. Youngblood; son, Roger Youngblood, great grandson, Jackson Youngblood, brother, Harold Wadley; sisters, Opal Wilkerson, Faye Capehart, Betty Singer, Roberta Powers, and Mary Atkissin.

Nell is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Malas of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Jarrod Youngblood, Jaimie Warrior & husband Tray, and Jennifer Holybee, Summar Malas, Sohar Malas and Sarrah Malas; daughter-in-law, Linda Youngblood, many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the "American Heart Association."
