Obituary

Neva Jean Kuykendall

Neva Jean Kuykendall was born August 13, 1927 in Paris, Arkansas to Dan and Bonnie Jeffreys and was called to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 14, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Neva leaves a lasting heritage and a true heritage that fulfilled her God-given destiny in this world ... "Her children arise and call her blessed" (Proverbs 31:28.)

Neva grew up in Paris, Arkansas and was married to her husband Cuelon Lee ('Kirk') Kuykendall on November 15, 1947. Neva was preceded in death by Kirk as well as her daughter Debra Jean Kuykendall and Neva's daughter-in-law Danette Lynn (Stoops) Kuykendall as well as her parents Jess and Bonnie Mings and brothers Junior and Nick Mings.

Neva was a true to life, kindhearted, and devoted wife and homemaker who loved God, family, friends, and life. She was the mother of two sons, and one daughter, and a best friend to so many. Her loving-kindness and bigheartedness exhibited the true nature of our Lord and redeemer Jesus Christ.

Neva and Kirk worked together in a variety of successful farming and retail business ventures in Arkansas and were members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church where Neva and her family attended for many years. In 1965 she and her family moved to southern California where she and her husband owned and operated a Baskin-Robbins ice cream franchise in Covina, California. In July1969 Neva's second child Debra Jean passed away suddenly. Neva and Kirk then decided to move the family back to Arkansas later that year. In 1970, Neva and Kirk became the owners of another Baskin-Robbins franchise located in Utica Square in Tulsa and operated two other Baskin-Robbins stores before opening two other hamburger style restaurants in south Tulsa. Neva and Kirk worked side by side in all these ventures and retired together in Tulsa.

Neva is survived by her two sons Danny Kuykendall and Michael Kuykendall of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Skiatook, Oklahoma; her daughter-in-law Karen Kuykendall of Skiatook, Oklahoma; her sister Alice Hargrove of Wichita Kansas and six grandchildren: Audra [Kuykendall] Testa and husband Adrian of Reno, Nevada, Mark and wife Lindsey Kuykendall, Matthew and wife Cassidy Kuykendall, and Jeff and wife Ayschia

Kuykendall of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Maxey and husband Gene Cannon of Florida and Nicholas and wife Kilie Wenzel of Fort Worth, Texas along with six great grandchildren: Ava, Emerson, Cora, Juniper and Laurel Kuykendall of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Rorie Wenzel of Fort Worth, Texas, sister Alice of Wichita, Kansas and a host of nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed and dreamed about until we all see her again in radiant glory in the Kingdom of Heaven. "... then will come about the saying that is written, "Death Is Swallowed Up in victory. O Death, Where Is Your Victory? O Death, Where Is Your Sting?" (1 Corinthians 15: 54-55.)

Visitation will be held at Moore Southlawn Chapel at 6:00PM - 8:00PM, Monday April 17,2023.
