Nita Starling, 86, of Tulsa, passed away Tuesday, May 30th, 2017. She was born May 1st, 1931 in Idaho to Carey and Etta Gregory. Nita married Reverend Dale Starling on February 2, 1951. Together they were on the evangelist field for three and a half years. They were pastors to three churches during their life together: Stigler Assembly, Suburban Hills in Tulsa, and Philadelphia Assembly in Tulsa. Nita taught Sunday School for various ages, from preschool to young adult, led children and adult choirs, played the organ and piano, and oversaw women's ministries. Dale and Nita were together almost 46 years when God called him home in 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of Turley Assembly of God Church, the Omni Book Club and the Oklahoma Home Community Extension for over 50 years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, bookkeeping, was always willing to help, including her children in their endeavors. Nita is survived by her children, Jonathan Starling and his wife Stacy of Sand Springs, OK; Susan Starling Nye and her husband Monte Nye of Tulsa; her granddaughters, Jonci and Jadyn Starling; her sister, Martha Tiffany and her husband Earl of Bethany, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rev. Dale D. Starling.
