Norene Dessie White Haas, 94, passed away April 25, 2014 at her home in Broken Arrow.
Norene was born October 20, 1919 (along with her twin sister Lorene) in Hitchita, Oklahoma
to Daniel Lafeyette White and Vergie Charlie Lewallen White. The family moved to Tulsa
when the twins were 5 years old and then moved to Turley a few years later. Norene
married Arthur V. "Son" Haas Jr., also of Turley, 19 Sep 1942 at Carbondale Community
Church. The couple made their home in Turley until moving to Broken Arrow in 1963.
Norene and her twin sister, Lorene, owned and operated Lorrain's Dress Shop in Turley
before moving the shop to Suburban Aces shopping center. In later years-Norene was a
supervisor for Temple's Custom Campers where she worked until she retired. Norene was
preceded in death by her husband Arthur ("Son") who died 28 Sep 1984, and was the last
surviving member of her family, being preceded in death by her mother, Virgie, and father,
Dan White, siblings: Rachel Bales, Tilly White, Bessie Purdon, twins Lloyd & Floyd White,
Athel White, Opal White, Lorene Meehan and Geraldine Haas. She is survived by daughter
Linda Davenport, and her husband, Bill of Broken Arrow; son Arthur Wayne, and his wife,
Bobbie Stroud Haas, of Broken Arrow; son Larry, and his wife, Lisa Hanson Haas, of Tulsa;
Grandchildren: Nick Davenport of Tulsa, Kenneth Davenport of Ft. Wayne, IN, Angie Adkins,
Jennifer Atwell and Amy Haas of Broken Arrow. Great-Grandchildren: Luke Davenport of
Tulsa, Harrison and Holden Davenport of Ft Wayne, IN, Hunter and Cheyenne Adkins, Jake,
Jared, Jeanna Haas and Carter Atwell, all of Broken Arrow along with numerous
cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the United Pentecostal Church of Broken Arrow where Norene was a long time member.----
