Obituary

Norma Marie Campbell Creider, 92, passed away on December 20, 2016 at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on December 3, 1924, in Bryantsburg, Indiana to William Elseworth and Myrtle Blanche McNew Campbell.

Norma grew up on her family's farm in Bryantsburg, north of Madison, Indiana. When she was 17 after World War II broke out, Norma went to work at the Jefferson Proving Ground as an engineering assistant. Her primary responsibility included the operation of chronograph equipment used to test the accuracy and quality of ammunition used on US Navy ships. By the time she turned 19, she was the supervisor of the technicians in her department.

Norma married James Finney Creider in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 8, 1946. They were married for nearly 65 years. A few years after settling into her married life, Norma began her sojourn in the dog world as a breeder and exhibitor. She dabbled with collies, pekingeses and pomeranians, before settling with her beloved Poms. At her peak in the business, which lasted more than 50 years, Norma was recognized as one of the top four Pom breeders in the nation. She has had two Poms entered in the world famous Westminster Kennel Club dog show. She also had five of her Poms win championships on the same day along with countless other Poms that have won national and international championships.

Norma was preceded to Heaven by her husband James Creider, parents William and Myrtle Campbell, her siblings Jessie Giltner, Doris Vertrees, Marjorie Springer, Melford Campbell, Minta Campbell and Melvin Campbell and her niece Beverly Creider Bradley.

She is survived by her children James Michael Creider (Margaret) of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Connie Marie Creider Morris (Hollis) of Prague, Oklahoma and Robert Wesley Creider (Teena) of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her grandchildren Alyson Creider, Brett Creider, Holly Cantrell, Katy Creider and Chrissy Medeck ; and her nieces and nephews, Tom Creider, Susan Stackler, Paul Creider, Philip Creider, Janice Sharp, Charles Creider, Mary Altendorf, John Creider and Joseph Creider, Mary Catherine Clark Hardy, David Springer, Katie Campbell, Mark Campbell, Melvin Campbell Jr., Linda Campbell and Dennis Campbell.

A private graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 5111 South Memorial in Tulsa, Oklahoma at 2:00 pm on December 23, 2016. A 45-minute visitation will precede her graveside service, starting at 1:00 pm at Moore Funeral Home's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
