Obituary

Norma Ruth Lefler Howell died September 28, 2013. She was born to L. H. and Mildred Lefler on January 5, 1934, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of Oklahoma State University. She retired from Badger Meter in March of 1996. Norma was an Airport Ambassador, a tutor for the Tulsa Library?s Adult Literacy Program, a precinct volunteer for the Tulsa County Election Board, a volunteer for the Tulsa Historical Society, a CASA Child Advocate, a pianist at Cancer Treatment Center of America and sat on various bond oversight committees. She was an accomplished pianist, a painter, a voracious reader, a crossword aficionado and an avid gardener. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Childress, and her children?s father, Gary Howell. She is survived by: daughters, Vanessa Davied (Larry) and Patricia Hunnicutt (Ed); grandchildren, Lauren Davied, Alexandra Davied, Caitlin Gibbons, Thomas Gibbons and Hannah Hunnicutt. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor should go to the Tulsa City-County Library Trust. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2013 at All Souls Unitarian Church, Tulsa OK. Though she will be forever missed, her gifts of love, laughter and music live on in our hearts. Under the direction of Moore?s Eastlawn Chapel, 918-622-1155.
