Hughes, Norma J., 81, died May 20, 2015. Born August 22, 1933 to Sam and Norma Wilson Humphries. Norma was raised in Tulsa, OK graduating in 1951 from Will Rogers High School. She married Gerald E. (Jerry) on May 29, 1953. Jerry and Norma shared many loves including traveling, their church, sponsoring their children and grandchildren in church and extracurricular activities and square dancing. They served as President of the NorthEast Oklahoma Square Dance Association from 1987 to 1988. A long-time member of East Side Christian Church, Norma cooked many meals in the kitchen for church activities as well as Will Rogers Rotary weekly meetings and various sports banquets for area schools with a very dear friend.

Norma was pre-deceased by her husband, son Thomas W. Hughes (Tom) and great-granddaughter Ilah Marie Simmons. Norma is survived by her daughters: Deborah Hughes, Tulsa, Denise and David Weatherman, Tulsa, Doreen and David Edmundson, Norman, JoEtta Hughes, Tulsa; grandchildren Greg, Megan and Amanda Edmundson and Mitch and Taylor Hughes and Hali and Nick Simmons; great-grandson Oakley Simmons. Other survivors include 2 brother-in-laws and their wives Denney J. and Sharon Hughes of Oakdale, IL and Ronald G. and Carol Hughes of Howell, MI and 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Moore Southlawn, 9350 E 51st St., Tulsa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, 1304 N.
