Obituary

Norma Jeanne Murray was born on April 28, 1937, in Reydon, Oklahoma, to Frank Aaron Millar and Nellie Charlotte Mattlage Millar. She entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 26, 2025, at the age of 88.

Norma attended Reydon Public Schools, graduating in 1955. She continued her education at Panhandle Agricultural and Mechanical College in Goodwell, Oklahoma, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She devoted many years to teaching kindergarten and fourth grade at Thomas Public Schools, faithfully serving her students with patience, kindness, and love. Among those students was her son, Jimmy Tom, whom she taught in both grades. Norma truly loved her students and is often remembered as the best teacher they ever had.

Following her teaching career, Norma worked for many years as a petroleum landman and later as a purchasing agent for pipeline right-of-way. She enjoyed the opportunity to travel and deeply valued the friendships she formed throughout those years.

Above all, Norma was known for her unwavering faith. She was a devoted Christian who openly professed her love for Jesus Christ and sought to live according to His Word. Her life reflected humility, generosity, and a servant's heart, and she consistently encouraged others through both her words and her example. Her faith was not only something she spoke about, but something she lived daily. We take comfort in knowing she has now heard the words: "Well done, good and faithful servant...enter into the joy of your Lord." (Matthew 25:23).

Norma was a kind and loyal friend, always willing to give of herself and care for those around her. Her gracious spirit and gentle strength were a blessing to all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who were the great joy of her life: her daughter Penny Stallings and husband Mike of Holdenville, Oklahoma; her son, Jimmy Tom Murray and wife Donna of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Destyn Stanton and husband Jerod, and their children Brecklyn and Jett; Ashlyn Curlik and husband Rodger, and their children Jack, Lyla, and Livi; Drs. Landon and Madison Stallings, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her brother, J.D. Millar of Sayre, Oklahoma; special cousins Gary and Lydia Mattlage of Augusta, Georgia; and a host of other relatives, nieces, and nephews.

Norma's legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
