WHITE, Norman E., 97, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 in Claremore, OK. Born March 23, 1919 in Cassville, MO to Clyde Emory and Verna Feland White. He attended school in Cassville but later moved to Washburn where he played basketball and graduated high school in 1938.
Norman went to California to work at Douglas Aircraft for six years, then went into the U. S. Army in 1945. He later moved to Tulsa from Los Angles where he married Elizabeth Ann Kincaid on April 24, 1948.
After 35 years with American Airlines as maintenance crew chief, Norman worked for W. R. Machine Shop, Inc. retiring after 30 years. In 2015 Norman gave an interview for the Eisenhower Library. He was an avid TU Basketball and baseball fan and also a Cardinal Baseball fan as well.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth Ann White; sister, Helen James; granddaughter, Jody Lucas Jordan. He is survived by his son, Dean (Linda) White of Lexington, KY; daughter, Margaret Ann (Phillip) Lucas of Broken Arrow, OK; five grandchildren, Joyce Lucas, Lance Lucas, Tracy Wheatley, all of Tulsa, Adam (Elizabeth) of Boston, MA and Jody's husband, Steven Jordan; thirteen great-grandchildren, Scott Jordan of Fayetteville, AR, Natalie Jordan of Tulsa, OK, Jonathan Larkin of Broken Arrow, OK, Christian Hudson and Madelyn Hudson of Tulsa, OK, Nick Stinnett of Okmulgee, OK, Shella Lucas of Tulsa, OK, Phillip Wheatley and Lucas Wheatley of Tulsa, OK, Annabelle White, Millie White, Eloise White, and Marigold White, all of Boston, MA.
