Oletha Mary Griffin, 94, passed away August 22, 2017. She was born April 15, 1923 in Keifer, Oklahoma to her parents Clarence L. Lloyd and Alice A. Lloyd. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert Dale Lloyd and Bartlet Alvin Lloyd and her loving husband Theodore William Griffin.

Mary was double promoted and graduated from Central High School earning a full scholarship to the University of Tulsa, but Cupid would intercede. Much to her mother's chagrin, Mary followed her heart and married Theodore William Griffin July 27, 1941. She met Ted while filling in for her mother who regularly watched Ted's brother Orville's children. Their lives were blessed with three children, Gary, Bobby and Genie.

Initially, Mary was employed by Dr. Fred Perry then she joined forces with her husband creating Ted Griffin Construction Company. Mary later became a realtor/broker and started Tempo Realty where she remained active until her 90th birthday working alongside her dear friend Rita Walters.

Mary had a passion for learning and after her children were grown, she attended Oral Roberts University where she worked toward a degree in religious studies. Faith has always been at the center of her life and she was a member of Yale Avenue Christian Church. She was a member of the choir, Sunday school teacher, and served on various committees.

Mary's hobbies included bridge, bowling, and gardening, and she was president of the Highland Park Garden Club. Mary and Ted traveled the world, but her two favorite trips were their 50th anniversary cruise to Alaska and the trip to The Holy Land.

Mary's true passion in life was her family and friends. Every Sunday she hosted family dinners, organized numerous family vacations, and she never missed any of her grandchildren's activities. In fact she would tell you her greatest life achievement is the legacy she leaves behind in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren which currently total 39.

Mary is survived by her children Gary Griffin and wife Sandy, Bobby Griffin and wife Marilyn, Genie Strakal and husband Michael, grandchildren Natasha Koski and husband Tim, Shannan Hair and husband Justin, Ty Griffin and wife Julie, Nathan Griffin and wife Loni, Matt Griffin and wife Sara, Michael Griffin and wife Jeni, Mendy Muhm and husband Matt, Stephen Strakal and wife Abby, Lauren Strakal, Alison Strakal and 15 great grandchildren, Griffin Koski, Hannah Hair, Katie Hair, Tucker Griffin, Grant Koski, Tatum Griffin, Sawyer Griffin, Jack Griffin, Luke Griffin, Wyatt Griffin, Linley Griffin, Gus Griffin, Liza Griffin, Sage Muhm, Jake Strakal.

Family will receive friends Thursday August 24, 2017 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel from 6-8pm. A celebration of her life is planned Friday August 25, 2017 at Yale Avenue Christian Church at 1:00 pm.
