Olga Chanos-Dellegar, age 103, daughter of Efrozena Smerchniak and Andrew Syrotiak peacefully passed away on August 27, 2023 at her home in Tulsa. She was born in Manhattan, NY on May 18, 1920.
She is predeceased by husbands, Andrew Chanos and Harry Dellegar. A devoted mother of three, she also managed to have a semi-professional life employed at Gilcrease Museum and Fox Photo. Olga, being a survivor, avoided injures despite having been held at gun point twice during her life.
Andrew and Olga moved to Tulsa in 1947 as he was transferred with American Airlines, where he continued to work until his death 1977. Olga had many interests including oil painting, gardening, kitchen expert, traveling and volunteering; she was active in her political beliefs, had opinions on many issues and frequently served as an election judge in her precinct.
Olga is survived by her daughters Carol Lynn Tilman, Janice Francine Chanos, son Andrew K Chanos, & wife Marilyn R Chanos. Additional family members are grandsons Cody Chanos, Shannon Tilman, Jason Chanos, & wife Jessica Chanos, Todd Chanos, & wife Carrie Chanos, grand-daughter Brooke Tilman. Great-grandchildren Clinton Chanos, Anderson Chanos, Deuce Chanos, Cooper Chanos, Max Chanos and Gabriel Chanos, great-granddaughter Scarlet Tilman.
Sister Ann Miller, niece, Caron Green, nephews, Wayne Miller, Gary Miller and Dr. Mike Miller.
Viewing will be 12noon-8pm and visitation with the family 2pm-4pm, Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11am, Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with interment following at Floral Haven Cemetery, Broken Arrow.
