Vern Hill entered his heavenly life on Saturday, February 27, 2016 surrounded by love and peace. He was 70 years old.

Vern was born in Cash, Arkansas on March 31, 1945 to Oliver and Bessie Hill and was one of eleven brothers and sisters. He spent his childhood and preteen years in California and when he was 16, his family relocated back to Arkansas. At the age of 17 he enlisted into the military where he served for years but before leaving to Germany he met the love of his life, Sandra Sue Byrom. While overseas, he wrote to Sandra and asked her to marry him when he returned. The moment he arrived back to America, they quickly eloped and began their life together. During their 52 years of love, they were blessed with five children: Michael, Janet, James, Allen and Rhonda and 14 grandchildren.

Family and friends remember Vern as someone who could not sit still and always had something to do. He enjoyed traveling to Colorado with his wife, taking fishing trips with his sons, and enjoying a game of golf with his best friends. He was a great example of hard work and was able to make a career of doing what he loved, drywall. He was a great father to not only his children, but also took many others under his wings that needed him when they had no one else to turn to.

Vern was preceded in death by both of his parents Oliver and Bessie, bothers James, Billy, Robert, sisters Ida and Linda, his daughter Janet Sue Hill during infancy and granddaughter Trinity Williamson.

He is survived by his wife Sandra of Sapulpa, Son Michael and wife Tammy Hill of Adair, son James and wife Rachelle Hill of Sapulpa, son Allen and wife Carla Hill of Tulsa, daughter Rhonda and husband Luke Williamson of Sapulpa. Grandkids Shante' Hill, Shelby Hill, Tamara Berg, Preston Hill, Allison Hill, Paige Hill, Michael Hill Jr., Macy Hill, Jace Hill, Shay Ishmael, Brinkley Hill, Tatiyonna and Tristyn Williamson.; brothers, Elvis & wife, Kim Hill of Gallatin, TN, Gerald and wife, Sharon Hill of Harrisburg, AR, Jody and Pricilla Hill of Mannford, OK, and Roy and Margaret Hill of Glenpool, OK; sister, Kay & husband, Larry Kelly of Glenpool, OK. Vern will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Visitation will be 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Vern's celebration of life will be Thursday, March 3 at 10:00 A.M., Allen Freewill Baptist Church, 7001 Highway 97, Sapulpa, OK. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M., at Osage Cemetery, Osage, OK.
