Opal Richetta (Lee) Ousley, age 94, passed away in Oklahoma City, OK on October 21, 2024.
Opal was born to Richard Lee and Clara Mae (Knox) Lee on June 6, 1930, in Coffeyville, Kansas. They later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She attended Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1947, and later attended Coffeyville Junior College, where she studied Business. She and her high school sweetheart, Thomas, were married November 12, 1948. She accompanied Thomas to Fort Knox, Kentucky where she assumed the role of a military wife. Later they moved back to Tulsa where she worked at Springer Clinic as a Lab Clerk for 25 years.
She served as a stewardess many years at Christ Temple CME Church. Opal was a talented seamstress and made the communion curtains for the church. After moving to Oklahoma City, she affiliated with People's Church, Oklahoma City until her health would no longer allow her to attend. Opal is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her parents Alexander and Clara Bean and Richard Lee; a sister, Barbara Childers; daughter, Gail Jean Gipson and great-granddaughter, Zoelle Reeves.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Carol A. Reeves and husband Richard; grandchildren, Kimberly Reeves-Black and husband Alie, Kamilah Morton, Adrian T. Reeves and wife Catherine, Kamil
Gibson and wife Monique and Nadiyah Albee; a host of great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved her and she will be greatly missed.
