Tulsa resident, 93, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021. Jim was born May 5, 1928 to Ruth Pearl (Rogers) and Ora Otis Tandy in Dearing, Kansas.
He served in the Merchant Marines, worked for The Kansas City Southern Railroad, was an Engineer for The Joplin-Pittsburg Railroad Co. (the engine is now in The National Museum of Transportation at St. Louis, Missouri), drove for Jewel Tea and OTASCO. Jim preached the gospel of Jesus Christ for 46 years and became an ordained minister at the age of 81.
Jim is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Rosalie Tandy and his daughter, Joyce Turner. Jim is survived by his daughters, Judy Hollowell, her husband, Hugh, of Afton, Oklahoma, Janice Coates, her husband, Doug, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Private Graveside Service will be held at Crocker Cemetery in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Memorial Service will be announced.
