Orville Lee Warren was born May 17, 1935 in Plymouth, Indiana and passed from this life February 11, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 83. Orville was the sixth and youngest son born to Russell and Sarah "Hettie" (O'Dell) Warren. After attending Argus High School in Argus, Indiana until his senior year, in 1952, Orville and his parents relocated to Nowata, Oklahoma. Orville graduated from Nowata High School in 1953 and immediately enlisted in the Air Force. He served during the Korean War stationed at Ladd Air Force Base, Cape Lisburne, Alaska. While transferring from Alaska to Chicago, IL, Orville made his way home to marry the love of his life, Beverly Ann Stone on July 18, 1956. Orville finished his active duty service with Beverly by his side and in 1958, they returned to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where Orville began his long career in the automobile industry. Here, they increased their family by welcoming Bradley Russell (deceased) and twins, Pamela Sue and Paula Sue. They relocated to Garden City, KS where they welcomed Phillip Scott and then returned to the Tulsa area where they completed their family by welcoming Paul Stephen. Over the years, Orville served as a Salesman, Service Advisor, and Service Manager at Tinks Auto Mart, Wilkerson Chevrolet, Siggi Grimm Motors, and Fred Jones Ford and Southpark Lincoln Mercury. He also continued to serve his country in the Air National Guard and Army Reserves retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant after nearly 30 years of service. He and the family enjoyed RV'ing and went on many trips associated with his annual military training camps. Through the years, Orville attended and served in many churches including 48 years at Red Fork Church of God where he served as youth leader, teacher, board member, and official greeter/women's hand kisser.
Orville is survived by his wife, Beverly Ann (Stone) Warren of the home, daughters Pamela Sue Smith of Tulsa, and Paula Sue Warren of Tulsa, sons Phillip Scott Warren and wife Sherri of Glenpool and Paul Stephen Warren and wife Jennifer of Sanger, Texas. Grandchildren Stephen Smith, Stephanie Smith, Troy Percefull, Tyler Percefull, Shane Warren, Megan Warren, Zachary Warren, and Maygen Fischer. He was preceded in death by his son Bradley Warren, parents, Russell and Sarah "Hettie" Warren, brothers: Charles M. Warren, William H. Warren, Robert N. Warren, Wayne O. Warren, and Walter R. Warren.
A highlight of Orville's life was the opportunity to take an Oklahoma Honor Flight to visit Washington DC to view the veteran's memorials; therefore, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Oklahoma Warriors Honor Flight at oklahomawarriors.org.
Memorial services will take place on Friday, February 15, 2019, at 10:00 am at Red Fork Church of God. Graveside service will take place with full military honors at 2:00 pm following the services on Friday at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
