They wed on August 4, 1944 at First Baptist Church-Tulsa and were inseparable for 43 years till Lorene went to her heavenly home. After building their first home together in Tulsa, Owen and Lorene started their family and had two wonderful sons, Lewis and Terry. Owen was a devout Christian that loved attending church at First Baptist - Tulsa and gave credit for his long life to following the Lord.
Owen was very active in the community from greeting at church to being a member of The Knights of Pythias, The Boy Scouts of America, The Saints Alive Choir and The Oklahoma Centenarian Club. When asked about honors he received through the years his answer was quite simple. The best and Only honor was meeting and marrying, his wife, Lorene.
