Ozella Few passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, MO. Ozella was born on a farm in Paris, Arkansas on May 28, 1923 to Henry Doom and Vernia Willis. She was raised in Fort Smith, AR by her mother, Vernia, and her stepfather, Jim Eaves. Ozella had 2 brothers, Floyed and Tommy, 2 step-sisters, Minnie and Maddie, and one step-brother, Frank. In 1944, she married Ferrel Galloway in Fort Smith. In 1945, Ferrel and Ozella moved to Los Angeles, CA with the promise of work. In 1946, Ozella gave birth to their only child, Richard David "Rick" Galloway. Ferrel and Ozella later divorced.
On April 3, 1965, Ozella married Lloyd Few at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, NV. They'd only been married 4 months when Lloyd's job with Boeing transferred him to Oklahoma. Lloyd and Ozella packed up and moved to Owasso, Oklahoma where they built their life together. Ozella was a stay at home Mom. Once Rick was older, Ozella worked in the food industry and retired from a local school as head cook.
Ozella was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Owasso, an avid bowler, enjoyed planting flowers and vegetable gardens, and had an immeasurable amount of love for animals taking in several rescue pets over the years that quickly became members of the family. Ozella was able to spend a good portion of her retirement traveling the world which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Ozella is survived by her brother, Floyed (Norma); sister-in-law, Jackie; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews; and the many special friends she made over the years. Ozella was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 34 years; one son, Rick; one brother, Tommy; her step-siblings and grandparents.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Moore Funeral Home - Southlawn Chapel in Tulsa, Oklahoma with a graveside service to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
