Pamela Buckner Phillips was born November 27, 1937, and raised in McAlester, Oklahoma. After graduating from High School, she studied business and accounting at Eastern State College in Wilburton, OK and went on to work at General Electric in New York.
Pamela later returned and worked for an oil company in Tulsa, OK, where she met and married Edward Phillips while he was going through Naval Aviation training. They moved to Memphis, TN and San Diego, CA where they had a son Charles Douglas, daughter Michelle Marie and enjoyed Southern California beaches and attractions.
After military service, they moved back to Tulsa for a few months before Ed joined the Federal Aviation Administration and they moved to several locations in Texas, then Denver, CO, Washington D.C., and Chicago, IL. Pam worked in accounting for doctors and other businesses at some locations where they lived. They appreciated meeting new people, playing bridge, visiting area attractions, boating, and flying in their plane locally as well as numerous cross-country trips.
Pam was very active with their children in Scouts, numerous school activities and voluntary leadership duties in several cities as President of the Women of the Church, Chapter Chairperson, Regional Council, and other positions of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority.
Pam was also very active in arts and crafts painting over 50 oil and acrylic landscapes, portraits, and ships, crocheting table cloths, making quilts, counted cross-stitching/embroidery, knitting clothing as well as fabricating home decorations.
They retired in Highland Village, TX near Dallas and their daughter (now deceased) and grandson. They enjoyed visits with their son Charles Douglas and his wife Cathy who lived near Seattle, WA, a condo/boat dock on Lake Texoma and traveled in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Europe. Later they moved back to Tulsa, OK where Pam enjoyed Walt Disney movies, TV shows, games, and a nap now and then!
Pamela later had greatly increased Alzheimer's and medical problems and was provided care at an Alzheimer's Care Facility. She was a smiling resident loved by many at the facility. Pamela passed August 23, 2023, with her husband by her side.
She is survived by her Husband - Edward Phillips of Jenks, OK, Son - Charles Douglas Phillips and wife Cathy of Littleton, CO, Grandson - Alexander Phillip Baker, Grandson - Travis Hall, Grand Daughter Shelby Schulz, and Great Grand Daughters- Emry and Avery Schulz, and Ellie Baker. She was preceded in death by her Daughter Michelle Baker, Mother Shirley, and Stepfather Nim Homer. Pamela will be greatly missed, but her spirit and memories will continue with each of us.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Moore Funeral Home - Southlawn Chapel located at 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations to be made to the Alzheimer`s Association in Pamela`s honor.
