Obituary

Surrounded by her family on Thursday evening, September 1, 2022, Patricia Ruth Campbell slipped away to meet the lord.

Pat was born to Samuel and Elizabeth Patton in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 25, 1933. As a beautiful young girl with sable black hair and an enchanting smile, Pat briefly worked as model for children's publications and appeared on local TV. Tragedy altered the trajectory of her life at the age of 12 when her father died of tuberculosis. Her mother went to work as a switchboard operator and took other odd jobs to pay the immense medical bills that had accumulated and to keep her family fed and sheltered during a very rough stretch. With her mother working nights and living a bare existence she largely raised herself while maintaining the charm and grace that would help her later in life.

Pat graduated from Will Rogers High School with the class of 1950. Determined to improve their economic condition, she continued her education by training to become a legal secretary and later going to work for well-known Tulsa Attorney, Irving Ungerman.

In 1952, one of Pat's best friends, Peggy Campbell, asked her if she would be interested in going out with her brother, Kenneth. He turned out to be the love of her life and they were married on March 20, 1953. They would remain together and deeply in love for 69 years until her death.

Patricia's was a life well lived. In addition to raising their two loving children, she touched many lives in the Tulsa community through volunteer work at Children's Medical Center, Meals on Wheels, Junior Philharmonic, Junior Opera Guild, Philbrook Museum of Art, and was also very active in multiple guilds within the Catholic and Episcopal churches. Pat also enjoyed experiencing many diverse cultures around the globe through extensive travel and art collecting with her husband.

Nothing was more important to Pat than her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Samuel Patton Jr. and his wife Marthyne. She is survived by her husband Kenneth, daughter Valeri and her husband Jeff Cranston, her son Eric and his wife Teri, granddaughter Krystal Higgins and her husband Aaron, and great grandchildren Jessica and Porter Higgins.
