Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Sue Fink, 81, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2017. Patricia Sue Fowler was born May 26, 1936 in Tulsa, Okla. to Thomas John Fowler and Iva Nora (Cumberland) Fowler. She attended school in the Tulsa area, graduating from Central High School in 1954 and continuing her education at the University of Tulsa, where she was a proud member of the Phi Mu Sorority.

Following college, Pat married Rafael Sandrea, and in 1956 their daughter Stephanie was born. After their divorce, Pat attended Draughan School of Business. She began her professional career working for Electrolux, and later worked for Skelly Oil Company (Getty) from 1962-1982.
In 1959 Pat was baptized and became a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Tulsa where she taught Sunday school for many years.

On July 20th, 1964 Pat married Kenneth C. Fink, with whom she had her second child, Tommy Guy Fink. The couple raised Stephanie and Tommy in the Rolling Hills addition near Catoosa. Pat was a member of and taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church of Rolling Hills.

In 1970, Pat and Kenneth purchased nearly 300 acres of land in his hometown of Blackgum, near Vian, Oklahoma. The couple began making regular weekend visits to the property to build, clear brush, and prepare it to be their eventual home. Following Kenneth's heart attack and subsequent early retirement in the early 1980s, he and Pat had a house built using rocks that were taken from across the acreage. Within a couple years, Pat and Tommy joined Kenneth at the farm, and the couple fully transitioned from living in the suburbs to life in the country.

Farm life could be difficult at times, but rewarding as well. The family raised cattle, horses, ducks, chickens, and various other farm animals, as well as bird dogs, which Kenneth had raised while still living in Catoosa. The family started a garden, built and stocked 3 ponds, bailed hay, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their get-away in the country.

After Kenneth's passing in 1986, "Granny Pat" remained on the farm, where she continued to work the land and care for the animals. Oftentimes, she took visiting grandchildren and young great-nieces and nephews with her as she made the rounds feeding the animals, teaching them the importance of hard work.

From 2007-2017, Pat lived at Sand Plum Assisted Living in Bixby, where she was well loved and cared for. Her friends and the staff enjoyed visiting Pat and her sometimes temperamental, sometimes loving roommate, a black cat named "Boo."

This loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and beloved friend will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Kenneth. She is survived by her children, Stephanie Sandrea (Richard Hobgood) of Sand Springs; Tom Fink (Lisa) of Claremore; Kenneth's children, Gary Fink and Carolyn Hayworth, both of Tulsa; grandchildren Sarah, Logan, Blake, Stacey, Kerry, Sha and Cameron; and a great granddaughter, Nora; brother, John Fowler (Marilyn) of Jenks, and his family and many friends.
