Obituary

Patricia "Trish" Ann Lewellen, 67, entered into His presence March 14th, 2019. The daughter of John Thomas and Erma Dean Hatch, Trish was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 26th, 1952 between two brothers, John and Dean. She graduated from East Central High School in 1970 and went on to earn a B.S. in Special Education from Oklahoma State University in 1974. Later, Trish would also earn a B.S. in Elementary Education.

In 1969 Trish met Mark Lewellen, with whom she would spend the next 50 years. They spent their first summer together dancing barefoot in the grass under the stars and night sky. Trish and Mark married in 1972, building their family through the births of son Lindsay and daughter Kennedy.

A loving wife, mother, sister and daughter, Trish was a champion for Christ. She spent much of her life serving others through her ministry as an elementary school teacher educating over a thousand children over three decades.

Trish was a talented artist and voracious reader; and loved learning about the Bible, the science of the universe, and cooking. She was a huge fan of the OSU Cowboys, her precious Andy Griffith shows, and a broad selection of films, particularly science fiction. (Perhaps surprising to many, she enjoyed the subject of extraterrestrial life.) Trish loved to laugh, finding humor in almost any situation.

Trish leaves behind a legacy of love, for both her family and her Savior. She is survived by her husband Mark; children Lindsay and his wife Melissa, and Kennedy and her husband Zach; grandchildren Carter Lilly, Murphy Grace, Wright Genevieve and Hatch Hughes Lewellen; siblings John and Dean Hatch; brothers- and sisters-in-law Suzie and Charles Schmidly, Mike Lewellen, Sally and Frank Purdy, and Mary Hatch (wife of Dean); and nephew Thomas Hatch and niece Wallis Hatch, and Shannon Schmidly, Cami Rowe, Kirsten Walstad, Jason Schmidly, Chad Mathias, Jared Mathias, Kyndal Braly, and Justin Lewellen.

Services were held Tuesday, March 19th at Mason Chapel, Asbury Methodist Church.

Donations may be made in Trish's name to: Family and Childrens' Services. www.fcsok.org .
