Tomer, Patricia Ann Busby, 93, passed away January 9, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pat Tomer was born May 6, 1922, in Augusta, Butler, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph Emerson and Linda Loretta (Nobile) Busby.
After graduating in 1940 from Tulsa Central High School, she attended the University of Tulsa, pledging Phi Mu Sorority. She was an active member of her sorority for her entire life. She married John Shaffer Tomer, retired BP Amoco, on April 16, 1943, in Seattle, Washington, returning to Tulsa in 1947. They celebrated their 64th anniversary in 2007.
Mrs. Tomer was a member of the Tulsa Historical Society, Oklahoma Ornithological Society, and Tulsa Panhellenic. She & her husband John were charter members of John Knox Presbyterian Church. She loved to garden and to travel. She wanted to visit the capital of every state, and achieved that goal, save one (North Dakota). Pat loved people and was curious about her ancestors. She researched her family tree for over 50 years and became a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution at the age of 90. She will especially be remembered for her positive spirit and kindness.
Love for her will continue in her daughter & son-in-law: Janice Tomer & Jeffrey Booth, Portola Valley, CA., son & daughter-in-law: Mark & Gloria Gray Tomer, Tulsa, OK., and grandchildren: Ashley Booth, Matthew Booth, and Evan Tomer. Also surviving is her sister: Gloria Busby Henson of Brenham, TX, and sister-in-law, Dorine Jones Tomer, and many nephews and nieces. Mrs. Tomer was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband John in 2007.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 3:00 pm at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 2929 East 31st Street, Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa
