Patricia J. Green of Claremore, Oklahoma passed away on April 30, 2019 within the boundaries of her beloved Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. Patricia was born in Collinsville, Oklahoma on December 4, 1931, the eldest of six siblings born to the late Grover C. Sanders and Virginia Dorris Sanders.
During her early years, Patricia was a union steward with the telephone company. She modeled for companies such as Neiman Marcus and Loreal. Later, she became a beautician and worked in the healthcare industry.
Patricia married the late Thom H. Green in Casper, Wyoming on Good Friday, 1959. While she was an Oklahoman first, she loved vacationing in Wyoming and Idaho with her family. She especially enjoyed big game hunting. She has an antelope in the Boone and Crockett records. She was a master wild meat chef on the Hasty Bake.
Patricia was active in the Tulsa Community being a Gilcrease Museum "Gilly" for over 20 years, Tri-Psi President, campaigning for Democratic candidates and participating in her church where she loved being nursery and webelos leader. She was a voracious reader of Cherokee, Rocky Mountain West, and World War II history. Her favorite book was "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee."
Patricia is survived by daughters; Teresa Blair of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and ThomAnn Green of Republic, Missouri; sister, Mardi Whitney of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two granddaughters and many beloved nieces and nephews. Those who knew Patricia will miss her quick wit, charm and exquisite beauty.
The Service will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, Tulsa.
