William Patrick Lovelace passed from this life and went to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents William Taylor "Jake" Lovelace and Josephine "Josie" White Lovelace Knipper.
Patrick is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Sue Lovelace, his three children; William Bradford (Shonda) Lovelace, Darcy Lynn (Randolph) Carroll, and Laina Kristine (Mark) Stanford. Patrick was proud to have five grandchildren; William Trevor Carroll, Robert Casey Carroll, Matthew Spencer Carroll, Erica Kindel (Cory) Batchelder, William Bryant Lovelace and three great grandchildren; Marlea Noelle Carroll, Gunner Michael Massacci, Evalie Isabel Batchelder.
During his lifetime, Patrick attended Tulsa Public Schools and Northeastern State University. His primary vocation in the industrial chemical industry was as a chemist, salesman, and manager. He was honored in his military career and retired a Lt. Colonel after 30 years of Army active duty and reserve service.
Patrick had a passion for church missions, evangelism, and Bible teaching. He was active in many areas of leadership in his local churches throughout his life. He served as a deacon, Bible teacher, a trustee to the Southern Baptist Brotherhood Commission, and as an evangelism team director. Along with Sue, Patrick started local Lay Renewal Ministries in Michigan and Ohio and led new teams in Oklahoma. Patrick served on many short-term mission trips in the US and in Brazil serving as a lay preacher and evangelist. His most personally rewarding role was as a Precept Bible Studies leader for 19 years where he saw many people grow deeper in their understanding and love for the Lord, Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be held Monday, May 24 at 2:00pm in the Chapel at South Tulsa Baptist Church, 10310 S. Sheridan, Tulsa, OK 74133
