Obituary

Born in Oklahoma City, Patsy moved to Tulsa early in her life and spent the rest of her life residing in the Tulsa area. She attended Will Rogers High School and Tulsa University. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick G. Ross and Margaret Ross, Husbands, William E. Roop Sr. and Shannon Melton, and Son, Frederick J. (Rick) Roop. She is survived by her children, Will E. Roop and wife Tammy M. Roop, Margaret I. Snyder and husband Greg Snyder, Lesley Lemmons, Stepson, William T. Roop and wife Carla Roop and daughter-law Vicki Roop. In addition, she is survived by nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Patsy retired from Parkside Psychiatric Clinic where she worked as an Administrative Specialist.

Growing up an only child, Patsy expressed how she dreamed of having a large family. Having achieved a vibrant family of five children, she continued to be an integral part of their lives as well as her grand-children, and great-grandchildren. Patsy was always a pillar of support and guidance in their lives, ensuring that every member was safe and well cared for. Her generous soul was not limited to her family but reached out to others as a strong mother figure, and example of tenacity in action. Being a well-respected member of the community, she called many "friends" and embraced them with joy and a sense of comradery.

Her passion for life itself was inspiring. She was well known for her love of Christmas which remained in her heart year-round and observed by anyone who visited her. Her love of the holiday overflowed into her membership in Department 56 Collecting Club in which she showcased a prolific collection of Christmas villages throughout her home. She enjoyed playing bridge and would gather with friends regularly for all-day matches. She was an avid reader and enjoyed book exchanges with friends. Always ready to celebrate, she loved dancing and coming together for parties and social events. Her love of flowers was notable, and she belonged to the Iris Society of Tulsa. As this is written, hundreds of Iris blooms are displayed in her yard.

After retirement, Patsy traveled extensively throughout the world such as Japan and South America and enjoyed going on cruises. She also frequented Sedona, Arizona, in which she would return with paintings and photographs of the area expressing her love and support of local artists and collected many other pieces from Tulsa artists as well.

The family will miss her special and personalized care for each member and celebrate the long and well-lived life she spent with us. Our memories of her will be kept as an eternal presence in our own lives.
