Obituary

Patty L. Harp, age 90, passed away on February 13, 2020, in Tulsa, OK. She was born on November 30, 1929, in Elm Springs, AR, to parents, Harlan and Bernice Sharp. She grew up in rural Northwest Arkansas with her three brothers, and graduated from Springdale High School. She moved to Tulsa on her own, and graduated from Draughon Business College in Tulsa, and went to work as Secretary to the Director of Nurses at Hillcrest Hospital. She married Marvin Harp in 1951, and worked as the office manager for their business, American Refrigeration, before starting a family. She later retired from Sun Oil Company, as an Executive Assistant.

Patty and Marvin had 46 years of marriage and enjoyed many years of Refrigeration Service Engineers Society friendships and events. They were members of South Lakewood Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK, where she served in numerous capacities throughout the church. She served in Vacation Bible School, helped in the nursery, and participated in Women's Auxiliary and choir.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Lee Harp; her brothers, James and Walter Sharp; and grandson, Garrett Lierly. She is survived by her brother Warren Sharp of Bentonville, AR; son, Ron Harp and wife, Cindy of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Cyndy Lierly and husband, Randy of San Antonio, TX; grandson, Matthew Harp and wife, Alison of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter, Mackenzie Hoffman and husband, Aaron of Norman, OK; grandson, Ian Lierly and wife, Kimberly of San Antonio, TX; grandson, Graham Harp and wife, Emily of Lawton, OK; grandson, Cameron Harp and wife, Polly of Norman, OK; granddaughter, Constance Harp of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter, Olivia Harp of Tulsa, OK; grandson, Elliott Harp of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter, Aubria Harp of Tulsa, OK; and grandson, Peyton Harp of Tulsa, OK. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Patty was a loving daughter and sister, devoted and faithful wife, caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, doting aunt, loyal friend and, most of all, a child of God. She leaves a legacy of a life well-lived, devoted to God and family, and will be greatly missed.
