Paul Edwin Hockett, 90, of Tulsa, OK passed away on February 19, 2026.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at Asbury Church Chapel on March 6, 2026 at 10am with the Reverend David Thomas officiating.

Paul was born in Bristow, OK to Ralph and Altha Hockett on July 23, 1935. After graduating from Bristow High School in 1953, he married his beloved High School sweetheart Shirley on January 14, 1955. Paul served 4 years in the Air Force prior to completing his education at the Oklahoma School of Accountancy and the University of Tulsa. He also attended Business Administration programs at Oklahoma, Stanford, Columbia, and Cornell universities. Starting as a Gas Tax Accounting Clerk for Sunray DX Oil Company in 1959, Paul retired as Manager of the Credit Card Center for Sunoco July1, 1991, after 15 years in that position and 32 years of service with the company. Other organizations he served during his career included: Board member for the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce, Board member for the Junior Achievement Association of Tulsa, President of the Tulsa Credit and Financial Management Association, President of the National Petroleum Energy Credit Association, Board member of the American Petroleum Credit Association and Board member of the Tulsa Area United Way. Paul always held in high esteem the many fine people with whom he worked in the Credit Card Center.

Paul grew up loving hunting and fishing, pleasures he pursued for many years. He started playing golf in the mid 1970's and continued to play until he was 88 years old. He enjoyed singing in the Baritone Section of the Choirs at Asbury Church for many years.

Paul is survived by his wife of 71 years Shirley, along with his son Jeffrey of Texas, Daughter and Son-in -law Russ and Debbie Knight of Tulsa, his grandchildren John Knight and his wife Janine, Katie Knight and Sarah Knight. He is predeceased by his sisters Maureen Quigley, Loreen Mershon and his brother Ralph Hockett Jr.
