Paula Jean Frazier Johnson, 97, most recently of Madison, AL, passed into the presence of her Savior on October 6, 2023. Born on October 10, 1925 in Oilton, OK, she was the daughter of Willis and Minnie Anne Frazier. She married her precious husband, Vernon Carl Johnson, on September 8, 1945, and enjoyed 64 wonderful years of marriage. They were the proud and loving parents to Jayme (Larry) Hower, Susie (Ron) Gannett, Cindy (Ken) Spaugh, Kristopher (Janette) Johnson, and Becky (Bill) Young, grandparents to eighteen grandchildren and great-grandparents to soon to be fifty-two great-grandchildren.
A gifted artist, Paula was creative across many mediums including sewing, interior decorating, drawing, painting, and cake decorating and possessed a lifelong and undying love for all things dishware. She loved children and taught Bible lessons to countless over many generations. Earnestly, she taught God's Word to her own children both through her words and her life. She understood the importance of teaching her children how to teach the Bible to others. She prayed for them every day of her life.
In 1981, she and Vern answered the Lord's call to His mission field in Mexico where her love for Jesus poured out to others as she loved and served them - making cakes for people who had never before had their own birthday cake, walking beside them through trials, being a spiritual mother to many, speaking wisdom in Bible studies gained through years of walking with the Lord, and serving in countless other ways. She was excited to see those who had gone Home before her including her beloved husband, Vern, a dearly loved grandson, Jeff Hower, her parents, four siblings, and many others.
Most importantly, she was a godly and wise woman known for her love for her Savior and His Word. She yearned to study and hear the Scriptures read and was working on her memory verses just days before her homegoing. She was truly a woman whose heart and life were transformed by the truth of the Gospel and the power of the Word of God. Graveside services will be held 2PM Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
