Paulette Sue Slate, 78, of Bernice, Oklahoma, passed away on January 26, 2026 in Miami, Oklahoma.
Paulette was born in Broken Arrow to Mamie Lucille and Roy Junior Quinton on July 18, 1947. She went to high school at Will Rogers in Tulsa and graduated in 1965. She worked as an office manager for TRW Credit Data for many years.
Outside of work, Paulette found her greatest happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved camping trips and fishing outings, tending to her garden, and preserving her harvest through canning. She was an exceptional cook whose kitchen was filled with warmth, delicious aromas, and welcoming conversation. Creative and talented, Paulette also enjoyed crocheting, crafting, and sewing-often making thoughtful handmade items for those she loved.
More than any hobby or accomplishment, Paulette treasured time spent with family and friends. Whether sharing a meal, telling stories, or simply enjoying laughter together, she created memories that will be cherished for generations. Over the years, with the never ending support of her family and her village, Paulette raised,loved,and fiercely protected her three children.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mamie Lester, and her "Pop", Hubert Lester.
Paulette is survived by her daughter Laura Evans (husband David), sons James Paul (Jammi Mickle) and Robert Mickle, grandchildren Blaine Griffey, Ace Mickle, Chyna Jade Mickle, Daris Mickle, great grandchildren Nataleigh Griffey, Josey Mickle, sister Kathleen Gay (husband Tom), nephew Tom Gay (wife Missy), and great nephews Rhett Gay and Riley Gay.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30th, 2026 at 10:00AM at Moore Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E 51st Street, Tulsa, OK 74145.
