Perry Eugene Gilstrap, age 77, of Mannford, Oklahoma, passed away on April 15, 2026. He was born on November 23, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late Warren Debs Gilstrap and Mary Ruby Stephens.
Perry served in the United States Army beginning in 1969 during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he made his life in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where he built a career in the oil and gas industry.
Perry lived a full and adventurous life, always embracing the things he loved most. He enjoyed playing and coaching soccer and was a licensed pilot, scuba diver, and avid fisherman who found his greatest peace on the water. His accomplishments included certifications in Ocean Technology Systems service and maintenance, the Arctic Circle Certificate, Master Scuba Diver, and completion of the Cessna 206 Stationair Systems and Procedures Course. In 2000, he was honored by AirLifeLine for flying six missions to provide medical transportation for those in need.
More than any achievement, Perry will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the time he treasured with them. His presence, guidance, and steady love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Faye Breuer, Rev. Jean Allison, Bill Gilstrap, Phyllis Martin, and Wayne Gilstrap.
Perry is survived by his loving wife, Deyanira Gilstrap; his sister, Rita Miller and her husband Larry; and his children and stepchildren and their families: Corbin Gilstrap and Tara O'Neill, and their children Joel, Adelaide, Brygette and Alexander; Ria Bremmer and her husband Mark; Jeffrey Gilstrap and his wife Sarah Beilke, and their children Owen, Natalie, and Maya; Fred Gonzalez and his daughter Miya; Martha Allensworth and her husband Ryan, and their children Addison and River;
Enoch Gonzalez and his wife Marianne, and their children Kenzie, Tegan, and Logan;
and Amneh Kuhn and her husband Martin, and their children Sebastian and Savanna;
Along with many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM (Noon) on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145. A graveside service will follow at Rolling Oaks Memorial Gardens in Tulsa.
