PHILOMENE HAWKINS, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 in Tulsa, OK. Philomene was born May 5, 1920 in Sioux City, IA to Philip and "Cecil" Boardman, as the middle child of five children: Jackson, Richard, Philomene, Patricia, and Jerry.
Times were tough, and the family traveled to various towns in their Model T Ford as Philip was seeking employment to better support his family. Many of the highways were dirt or gravel and seldom would they even see a motel � camping was the norm. The family lived in Sioux City, IA, Rapid City SD, Minneapolis, MN, Eaton Park, FL, Siloam Springs, AR, and then to Tulsa, OK in 1936.
Philomene graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1937. In 1941, she was studying interior decorating at a special adult education program when she met Alsie "Al" Hawkins. They were married December 10, 1942. They were blessed with three children: Jania (Rusty) Stout, Vernon (Glenda) Hawkins, and Claudia (Arnie) Reith; and eleven grandchildren -- Jon Stout, Jania "Cissy" Stout, Jimmy (Mary) Stout, Peter Stout (d), Kimberly (Richard) Randall, Ryan Hawkins, Heather Dick, Kit Stephens (d), Jocelynn (Travis) Anstine, Jamie (Kim) Stephens, Alexis Stephens; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Haley Dick, Lindsey Anstine, Emily Anstine, Braden Anstine, Abigail Anstine, Owen Stephens, Mae Stephens, Addison Stephens, and Carson Stephens, Hannah Slomkowski and Sophie Slomkowski, Rachel Randall , Trey Randall, Mary Randall and Max Stout. Philomene loved her family, and everybody loved her so much. She will be missed immensely.
