Obituary

Phyllis Kirberger was born December 29, 1934, to William "Jay" and Velma Yingling Rollins, in Dawson, Oklahoma. She died February 9, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a brief illness.

Following graduation from Will Rogers High School in 1952, she worked at Phillips Petroleum before marrying Robert Earl Kirberger, Jr., in 1958. She then worked at her beloved mother-in-law's shop, Margo's, and was active with Tulsa Boys' Home and John Knox Presbyterian Church. In addition, she worked for many years as a legal secretary for a local attorney.

Phyllis was known for her humor, common sense, elegance, and character. She loved her animals and flowers; ice skating; needlework; design and fashion; books and movies; and goats. She was an adept pianist, a skill her mother insisted her children have along with a set of fine clothes and a pair of good shoes. She was not keen on cooking or sewing, but she was good at them, as she was at everything she did.

She was predeceased by her parents and sister, JayDean Rollins Grubb; parents-in-law Margaret Jordan Kirberger and Robert Earl Kirberger; sisters-in-law Ann Nelson, Clevanne Kirberger, and Jo Ellen "Jody" Kirberger; brothers-in-law Bill Grubb, Bill Kirberger and Fred Nelson; nephew Billy Kirberger and niece Annie Kirberger.

Phyllis leaves behind her husband, Robert Earl "Bob" Kirberger, Jr., of Tulsa; daughter, Elizabeth Kirberger and partner Mojgan Hakimian, of Brooklyn, NY; step-children Robert Earl Kirberger, III, Brad Kirberger, and Kristi Binney (Charles); brother-in-law Don Kirberger; nephews Bill Grubb (Nancy), Sam Grubb, and Rick Nelson (Janet); nieces Donna Arnold, Judy Coman (Doug), Laura Haas (Steve Noriega), Jan Kirberger, Karol Kirberger, Margo Nelson, and Jill Thomas (Bob); grand-niece Katelyn Grubb; step-grand- and great-grandchildren; grand- and great-grand nieces and nephews; friends and colleagues.

In her last years, she received care from the wonderful Glenda McKinney and the extraordinary people at Oklahoma Methodist Manor.

We will miss her immensely. But it gives us comfort to know that she has entered into the peace that surpasses all understanding.

No services are scheduled at this time. Donations in her memory may be made to Oklahoma Methodist Manor. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at www.moorefuneral.com
