Obituary

Phyllis Ann Simmons of Tulsa, Oklahoma, peacefully slipped into the loving arms of her Lord on March 15, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Edra Brown; 2 sons, Tom Luker and Walt Luker; step daughter, Shelly Damer; sister, Marjorie Boos; brother, Jim Brown; and the love of her life for 34 years, Leslie Warren Simmons.

She is survived by her daughters, Stacey Clark of Tulsa, Rhonda Mann and husband, Don of Tulsa; step-son, Les Damer of Skiatook; 3 grandsons, Ben Mann of Denver, CO, Kyle Mann and wife Callie of Broken Arrow, and Lee Luker of Tulsa; 3 granddaughters, Carly Luker of Cushing, Jordan Miner and husband, Cameron of Stilwell, and Aryn Cox and husband, Warren of Canadian, OK; 2 sisters-in-law, Toki Brown of Tulsa, and Chipper David and husband Jerry of Tulsa. As well as 13 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

Phyllis was a devoted wife, precious mother and wonderful grandmother. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Carbondale Assembly of God church.

She loved all the arts, from theatre to paintings to all genres of music, from old Gospel music, to Johnny Mathis to The Carpenters. She loved to dance. She was quite the romantic and when she loved, she loved deeply with a whole heart. Her smile was infectious. She was ornery, loved to joke, but never at someone else's expense. She was energetic and could get twice as much done in a day than most. For awhile she was a single parent of 4 kids so she needed that energy. She was always up for any adventure.

She was stylish in the way she dressed and kept her home decorated. She had great taste in that area.

She was a business owner of a secretarial answering service called Dial An Office for many years with 100 customers at one point. That's a lot of answering.

She loved volunteering at Brush Creek Craft Fair for many years and made some of the best friends of her life through volunteering. They had fun!

Her sense of humor was one of her best qualities. And let's face it, she was a flirt! She was beautiful in a classic way, but it was her personality that put her over the top.

Phyllis leaves behind a group of caring friends who have selflessly provided comfort, encouragement and support to her and her family during her recent struggle. The family would especially like to thank Carolyn and Robert Lumen, Carol and Joe McGraw, and Ruthie and Steve Duenner.

We will miss her greatly but are happy that she is fully alive with the Lord she loves and that we will see her again.
