Ralph Wayne Pitts Sr., born June 15, 1938 in Tahlequah, OK to Ralph Marlher and Necosha Pitts.
Ralph was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 47 years Shirley in 2005. He passed away June 3, 2018 with his family by his side.
Ralph was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Better known to most as Papa. Papa loved life and treasured making new friends every day, wherever he was. He was well known for his sense of humor, great stories, and strong bear hugs. Papa would say that his family was his greatest accomplishment in life. He supported them in all their endeavors and encouraged them to always be their best. He was extremely dedicated, hardworking and reliable. He started Telstar Instrument Corporation in 1971, and later formed Y.E.S., Your Electric Service. After God's calling to enter the ministry, he continued to manage family, businesses, and his congregations. He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University and was ordained by the southern Baptist convention in 1982. He spent time with the prison ministry, bus ministry, and enjoyed teaching young adults.
He will be missed by his loving family which includes his daughter, Cheryl Stark; son, Ralph Pitts Jr.; grandchildren, Ryan Stark, and wife Erin; Crystal Stark, and Caleb Pitts; great grandchildren, Carsyn and Stella Stark; nieces and nephews, Rick Pitts, Brandon Pitts, Kimberly Koehne, Laura Bales, and Tony Petros. Only God will know how many lives this great man influenced. He will forever be in our hearts.
