Ralph Short Rhoades, Jr., 92, passed away June 14, 2019 peacefully at his home. He is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Shirley (Barton) Rhoades and son Brettley Vern Rhoades, Sr. He is survived by son Barton Ralph Rhoades. Grandchildren Rachael Rhoades-Hinton, Robin Oakley (husband Joshua Oakley), Lacy Tritten (husband Geoffery Tritten) and Brettley Vern Rhoades, Jr. (wife Lace). Great-Grandchildren, Nicole Hinton, Jack Hinton, Sydney Oakley, Jacob Tritten, Sadie Tritten and Avery Rhoades.
Ralph was a WWII veteran and served in the Oklahoma State Legislature as a state senator and state legislator and then went on to serve in the Department of Commerce in Washington D.C. He retired as CEO/President of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma after 20 plus years of service. An avid gardener and baseball fan, he enjoyed his family most of all. Funeral services set for 11:00am, Thursday, June 20, 2019 at First United Methodist Church followed by a reception. Graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery at 2pm.
